TIPS AND TRICKS FOR TOILETS
Clogged toilet? Here are some tricks to try. If you have tried these and still have a clogged toilet, give us a call and we can help.
- Plunge the toilet. Make sure the plunger is warm. Cold rubber doesn’t form a good seal.
- Make sure you have a good seal and plunge in an up and down motion. The “up” is just as important as the “down” motion to break up a clog.
- Add some hot water and dishwasher detergent. Sometimes the hot water is enough to break up a clog. The dishwasher detergent can also be helpful to break up a clog. Try adding the hot water and detergent and let sit for an hour or two.
- Avoid clogs. Dispose of feminine hygiene products and paper towels appropriately. Teach your children that the toilet is not a swimming pool for their toys. (you can “lol” here).
Anytime you have water backing up into a sink or shower when flushing is a sign of a more serious issue. Call us right away if this is happening.
